When you visit the beautiful island of St. John, you will find many things to do!

Best Beaches

There are several incredibly gorgeous beaches within a short drive of the Villa.  Some of our favorites include Honeymoon Beach, Cinnamon Bay Beach, Hansen Bay and of course, Chocolate Hole Beach which is about a 5 minute drive from the Villa.

Tours/Sightseeing

Many options are available for sightseeing tours depending on your interest.  Some options include Historic/Beach Tours, Island Hop and Food Boat Tours, The Baths of Virgin Gorda, Swim with Turtles and many more!  A tour guide is a great way to make sure you learn about the history of the island and see all the most famous spots.

Hiking Trails

Most of the island of St. John is a national park and we are know for beautiful and scening hiking trails.  Some favorites include Ram Head Reef Bay, Lind Point, Cinnamon Bay and Francis Bay.  You can find more information on hiking trails from St. John Trail Maps.

Sailing and Water Sports

Multiple options are available including jet skis, kayaking, scuba diving, snorkeling/fishing charters and sailing/speedboat/catamaran charters.

Shopping

Mongoose Junction in Cruz Bay (an approximate 10 minute drive from Sweet Dreams Villa) offers great shopping options for souvenirs, jewelry, art, clothing and more.

Dining

You will find many great options for dining on the island, and your options range from casual to elegant, with multiple types of cuisines.  Some of our favorites include Lovango Rum Bar (for pizza and great salads), Woody’s (casual bar food), The Beach Bar (often has live music and the best nachos!), and for a fancier option, Morgan’s Mango (reservations recommended).

Sweet Dreams Review: A Perfect Family Getaway on St. John

We recently stayed at this beautiful home on St. John, and our entire family of six, including three teenagers, had an absolute blast! 

The location is best of all worlds.  Private and away from the hustle and bustle, but very close for beachgoing and quick trips to Cruz Bay.  They even had beach gear, to include ice chests, chairs, and snorkel gear.  

The layout of the home was perfect for us, offering plenty of private space for everyone to relax, as well as open spaces where we could all come together for dinners and movie nights. The kitchen was large with a great layout and island, ample seating made it easy to enjoy meals together, and the cozy living area was ideal for winding down with a movie in the evenings.

One of the highlights of our stay was the sound system, both inside and outside. It was such a nice touch that really added to the overall experience. 

After beaching all day, we spent most of our evenings by the pool and on the patio, soaking in the incredible views, especially during sunset. The scenery was truly breathtaking.

The individual split-unit air conditioners in each room were a big plus, allowing everyone to set the temperature to their liking—something we all appreciated. Another noteworthy feature was the home's solar power and backup generator. We were particularly grateful for the generator when the power on St. John went out for several hours one evening; it kept everything running smoothly without a hitch.

Both the homeowner and the property manager, Luciah, were fantastic—super responsive and a pleasure to work with. Their attentiveness made our stay even more enjoyable. We would absolutely love to stay here again and hope to do so in the very near future. This home truly made our vacation unforgettable!
